You’ll need a warm, winsome personality because you’ll be the first person to greet anyone who comes in the doors during the week! You gotta love interacting with people and making them feel welcomed while helping them address what brought them in that day. Working and communicating across departments on projects happens every week, as well as handling some administrative duties that make church-wide initiatives a success.
If you can effectively communicate verbally and in writing—whether you’ve had enough coffee for the day or not—and can do that with people who’ve had lots of birthdays or a few, then keep on reading. Oh, and if you can catch missspelings, that’s a bonus!
You gotta be a team player. God has things for us to do that are bigger than any one person or ministry. So, using a database, phone system, email, etc. (we provide training to bring you up to speed on our systems) and being ready to participate with and even lead teams of volunteers is the norm.
If you can shift between conducting everyday business that keeps things running and telling a story, between laughing at yourself (and occasionally a staff teammate) and listening to the story of someone who walked into the church looking for a pastor, all while working hard and getting things done, then we would like to talk with you…because you might enjoy working with us.
It’s a professional role with a warm touch. Here are a few of the finer details below…
