You’ll need a kind and patient personality, because you’ll be the go-to person when the computers and other technology are acting up. You gotta love helping people—especially when technology is being uncooperative—and making them feel confident and cared for while you get them back up and running.
You’ll collaborate with staff and volunteers, jumping into projects where tech plays a supporting (but critical) role. You’ll also be the friendly face behind maintaining our systems, and helping make sure our church-wide tech initiatives run smoothly.
If you can explain things clearly—whether you’re talking to someone who was born with a smartphone in hand or someone who still thinks the cloud is in the sky—you’re our kind of person. Bonus points if you can spot a cable that’s out of place or know the difference between a reboot and a refresh without Googling it.
You gotta be a team player. God’s mission for us involves a lot of moving parts, and technology supports almost every one of them. So being able to use (and teach others how to use) software, hardware, and the occasional mystery gadget—that’s just part of the fun. We’ll provide the training, but bring your curiosity and a desire to help people thrive.
If you can switch gears between solving a stubborn tech issue, laughing through a troubleshooting session with a teammate, and offering calm reassurance to someone who can't get the printer to work, then we’d love to talk with you…because you might be a great fit on our team.
